Basement Floor Productions History

Basement Floor Productions has been serving the Music Industry for 28 years. Our combined experience with musicians, clubs, record companies, tv, radio, equipment manufacturers, trade magazines, distributors and fans have allowed us to become one of the most sought after companies on the East Coast.

Tim

Basement Floor Productions was created by Brothers Tim, Mark, & Roland Miskimon in the 1980's as a company to promote their new up and coming rock band, Basement Floor. All bookings and recording agreements were arranged through this company so that the band could maintain some control over their musical endeavors.

Mark

After the band negotiated several recording contracts, Tim & Mark felt it was time to start their own recording studio. The original studio, which opened in December 1979, started out as an 8-track analog setup and was used primarily for the recording of the band's demos. When the band signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records, it became obvious that the studio needed to grow.

To create an additional income that would allow them to expand the studio's capabilities, Tim started to record local bands, (most of them were friends) & began recording radio promo spots. By the late 1980's Basement Floor Productions became a popular place for talented musicians in the Baltimore-Washington area to record their demos and independent releases.
